Current Projects:

UMBC Senior Advisor to the University for Public Health and Pandemic Response
Dr. Wilson is a public health trained and board-certified infectious disease physician with experience in infectious disease epidemiology and state/national public health response. Her research focuses on public health data visualization and the epidemiology of infectious diseases, particularly, infection control issues across the healthcare and community continuum.

CDC Emerging Infections Program Healthcare Associated Infections and Community Interface Program
She is the Co-principal Investigator of the Maryland branch of the CDC Emerging Infections Program Healthcare Associated Infections and Community Interface Program and was the PI of the CDC-funded study “Community-based Programs to Test and Cure Hepatitis C”.

COVID-19 Related Research
At UMBC, Dr. Wilson has worked with the Imaging Research Center to explore a novel platform for the visualization of COVID-19-related Maryland Medicaid data and other public health data as it relates to statewide sociodemographic and environmental risk factors.

With The Hilltop Institute, Dr. Wilson worked to extend predictive modeling to estimate individual-level risks of hospitalization due to COVID-19 for Medicare FFS beneficiaries in Maryland.
