Support EDHS

Since 1980, the UMBC Department of Emergency and Disaster Health Systems (EDHS) (formerly Emergency Health Services (EHS)) has been providing not only an exceptional educational experience for future EMS leaders and professionals but we have also been involved with the development of the EMS profession worldwide. Our activities include participation with national and international organizations, conference presentations, and publishing cutting-edge research. In order for the department to continue its mission, we welcome the financial support provided through the generous contributions of parents, alumni, faculty, EMS professionals and friends.

We have recently partner with Civic Works, Public Works Alliance, Baltimore Fire Department,  Maryland Department of Service and Civic Innovation, and Mayor’s Office for Employment Development, and are super excited to welcomed our first cohort of EMS Works candidates in Fall 2026.
