About

Jungwon Yeo, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Emergency and Disaster Health Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Her research centers on enhancing human security and community resilience by examining collaboration among government agencies, nonprofit and private organizations, and civil society. She also explores the roles of behavior, accountability, risk, communication, ethics, leadership, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in shaping public service delivery during both crises and periods of normalcy.

Dr. Yeo serves as an associate editor for the Natural Hazards Review and the International Journal of Public Sector Management. Additionally, she is a Chair-Elect for the ASPA’s Sections on International Comparative Administration (SICA) and serves as a board member for ASPA’s Emergency and Crisis Management (SECM), and Korean Public Administration (SKPA).

Her academic experience includes international visiting professorships and research fellowships at universities and research institutes in China, Lithuania, and South Korea. Prior to joining UMBC, Dr. Yeo served as a faculty member in the School of Public Administration at the University of Central Florida.
