Emergency and Disaster Health Systems Scholarship:

Gary G. Rupert Scholarship Endowment
Award Amount: Varies up to $1000
Deadline to Apply: May 30th
Eligible Students:
– Emergency and Disaster Health Systems Majors (any concentration) Juniors or Seniors
– Graduate Level Students (Master’s & Ph.D. EDHS Specialization)

To apply to scholarships:

  1. You must first sign in with the same user name and password you use to access your My.UMBC.edu login portal.
  2. Complete the General Application;
  3. Once submitted, if applicable, you will be notified if you are eligible to apply for additional Apply-To Scholarships (see below).
  4. See apply-to scholarship information below for completing application to the Gary G. Rupert Scholarship.

Automatch Scholarships: Once you complete your General Application, you will be matched with scholarships for which you immediately qualify based on school-reported data – no further action is required. All students who qualify will be auto-matched to these opportunities. Qualifying does not guarantee you will receive a scholarship only that you are now eligible to be considered for one.

Apply-To Scholarships: These are scholarships that have additional criteria beyond the General Application.
To see a list of scholarships that may need additional action on your part to receive consideration,

  1. Select “Recommended” under “Opportunities.”
  2. Submit short personal statement, documentation of community service, and a resume for further consideration.

Award Amount: The number and award amount of scholarships are for general information purposes only and should not be considered a guarantee of what you will receive if selected. Actual award amounts (varies up to $1000) are based on students’ individual eligibility, funds available, and other factors.


NEW STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

The University System of Maryland (USM) Women’s Forum Student Scholarship (awards up to $1000) is open to any student who meets the following criteria:

  • Attending a USM institution.
  • Earned a minimum of 48 undergraduate OR 12 graduate credits (by June 1, 2022).
  • Plan to enroll as a student for the Fall 2022 term.
  • Currently has a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for undergraduate OR 3.25 for graduate at your USM institution (upload an unofficial university transcript).
  • Demonstrated financial need (upload FAFSA or explanation of financial need)
  • Students are eligible for only one scholarship per lifetime.

Veteran’s & Military Benefits

  • Students who are using military benefits may have additional documents to submit to the university.
  • At UMBC, the Registrar’s Office coordinates all veteran and military benefits direct.
